Presentation Details

The Aeronautical Information Exchange Model also know as AIXM is an XML/GML based standard model developed by Eurocontrol and FAA to exchange and store Aeronautical data. In this presentation we will describe our experiences with transforming data for multiple legacy sources into AIXM 5.1 using FME. FME has recently added extensive support for reading and writing AIXM though the AIXM reader and writer pair. But the format is complex and there are still many things to take into consideration to successfully migrate data. Some of the specifics will be get into: * How to generate UUID's based on natural key seeds. * Working with embedded and nested GML objects in FME. * Extending XSD schema files and write and verify AIXM extension fields. * Test data quality.
