Evolving Gas Utility Mapping with FME

The New Mexico Gas Company GIS Department uses FME and FME Server for integrating data from various databases to display and provide data for use in web maps, reports, emergency outage processes, mobile device web map applications and geospatial data analysis. This presentation will show how we currently transform and load data from our Inspection Manager compliance system into our Enterprise SDE geodatabase to streamline GIS mapping of construction orders. We are piloting a new mobile construction order process, and we will show how FME will be used to apply data from our asset management system to a REST web map service and then push collected data into our compliance system. This new process will streamline data collection by prepopulating form data on our mobile devices and improve data quality by eliminating some manual data entry tasks.
