Let’s look at how these technologies come together to tackle data challenges.
How FME and Bedrock work together
FME is an all-data, any-AI platform, empowering you to choose the right set of tools for the job. It’s built to handle all types of data from a wide range of sources, so whether you’re working with geospatial formats, images, spreadsheets, or enterprise systems, FME is designed to integrate them with automated, structured workflows.
With Amazon Bedrock, you can layer in powerful generative AI services — accessing a broad selection of foundation models from leading AI providers like Anthropic, AI21 Labs, Stability AI, and Amazon’s own Titan models. Bedrock allows developers to easily experiment with, test, and deploy multiple models without managing infrastructure or needing deep ML expertise. Its serverless architecture ensures scalability and performance, while FME’s visual interface allows users to incorporate Bedrock’s capabilities into data workflows without writing code — making powerful AI accessible and secure across enterprise use cases.
Together, FME and Amazon Bedrock enable you to:
- Build and deploy AI workflows quickly in a visual interface.
- Access to multiple large language models (LLMs) and image models from top AI providers.
- Run workflows in a scalable, secure environment.

Case Study: Image Classification at Scale
The webinar spotlighted a real-world use case from Amberside Energy, a renewable energy company, and Avineon-Tensing, a geospatial solutions provider. The challenge: automating the classification and organization of large volumes of site imagery collected from solar and energy sites.
Traditionally, this was a time-consuming and manual task, with images being hand-tagged and sorted for reporting purposes. But by using FME with Amazon Bedrock, the team developed a smart, scalable solution:
- FME Flow orchestrates the entire workflow, from ingesting raw images to preparing them for AI processing.
- Amazon Bedrock applies generative AI models to automatically classify and categorize images based on content — such as identifying whether a photo shows construction, equipment, or environmental features.
- The results are fed back into FME for standardized reporting, audit-ready organization, and automated filing.
This resulted in a huge reduction in manual effort, faster turnaround times, and consistently organized documentation across all sites.
