Regional Address Map for Public Safety (RAMPS)
Presentation Details
RAMPS was a yearlong project conceived for Santa Clara County to aggregate city-sourced address points on an ongoing basis from its city partners. The goal was to improve call location accuracy and response time for its 911 dispatch system that pre-dated GIS. The challenge of aggregating 15 different city data schemas and supplementing them with public safety layers was greatly aided by FME workflows. This successful collaborative project between County and cities resulted in a substantial increase in the number of known addresses and the empowerment of local city data stewards.
