Data Quality Assurance

The GIS Team for EMS Dispatch maintains an SDE of address and road data. This database is continually being edited. Due to the vast number of business rules that the team needs to follow while editing this data, it is virtually impossible for anyone to do this without introducing some error into the data. We are human after all. With the use of FME, the data is checked for errors based on these business rules on a regular interval. If errors are found, then an email is sent to the user who introduced the error so that they can rectify the error. The email tells the user the unique id of the features and the type of error(s) that were found.
