Leveraging IoT Big Data to Bring Insights to Global Vessel Patterns

AIS (Automatic Identification System) technology allows us to view the location of vessels globally in near real-time. Storing the location of over 500,000 vessels globally every 2 to 3 minutes creates significant big data challenges. The subsequent development of meaningful products from this data has impacts across several segments of the energy industry. This technical presentation will provide an example on how FME can be leveraged with IoT big data to create informative and compelling geospatial datasets.
