FME World Tour 2022 Resurrecting ADOT’s Highway Log Program

Arizona Department of Transportation's (ADOT) 30-year tradition of publishing annual State Highway System Logs (SHS Logs) came to a screeching halt after implementing Esri's Roads and Highways (R&H) in 2015. Development of new SHS Log workflows met rather significant technical and data challenges with the new LRS data infrastructure. Driven by successes using FME’s technology in other projects, ADOT’s Multimodal Planning Division launched a project to restore and modernize the SHS Log program in the fall of 2019. The primary goals were to build continuously-improving workflows that generate on-demand, self-servicing, multi-format SHS Log products on top of the Esri R&H system. The presenter will share the critical roles FME plays in the new approach: data ingestion and conditioning, quality assurance, data aggregation, and process orchestration and automation.
