Electronic Marker Balls are installed on underground natural gas facilities to allow for the future accurate location of gas main, services and fittings. Some of these electronic marker balls are installed on gas services by contractors without GPS capturing equipment. I will show how information and measurements from a contractor-provided Excel spreadsheet are used to create points in an ESRI SDE point feature class. This is one example of how Peoples Gas saves time and resources with the help of FME Workbench.
